Senate Bill 1195, amending the "PA Greenhouse Gas Regulation Implementation Act"
S.B. 1195, authored by Senator Don White (R-Indiana), amends Act 175 of 2014, providing clarifying language regarding the development of a state implementation plan to comply with the Federal Clean Power Plan, which was stayed by the United States Supreme Court in Febraury 2016. S.B. 1195 overwhelmingly passed the House and Senate and was approved by Governor Tom Wolf on June 23, 2016.
Act 57 ensures that if the Clean Power Plan withstands legal review economic impact, energy reliability, infrastructure buildout, price, and the inclusiveness of stakeholders are part of Pennsylvania's strategy for compliance.
